MARK RUNFOLA, MD, FACS

Originally from Buffalo, NY, Dr. Runfola studied at the University of Notre Dame and the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. He received his general surgical training at the Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency and then completed a two year fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York.

Dr. Runfola is Board Certified and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also of Fellow of the Society of Surgical Oncology and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

His professional interests include malignant diseases of the colon and rectum, esophagus, stomach, pancreatobiliary system, skin and soft tissues and breast.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Runfola enjoys hiking and horseback riding with his wife and son.  


Members of the American College of Surgeons are referred to as "Fellows." The letters FACS (Fellow, American College of Surgeons) after a surgeon's name mean that the surgeon's education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by the American College of Surgeons.
