HISTORY OF ADVANCED SURGICAL ASSOCIATES

Twenty-five years ago Dr. Mark Cohen came to Arizona and established himself as the preeminent general surgeon in the East Valley. His caring attitude and exemplary attention to patient care earned him a reputation as one of the best surgeons in Arizona.

Doctors Richard Cooper and Greg Rula joined Dr. Cohen in 1997. Dr. Cohen has since retired in 1999 and Dr. Lawrence Damore joined the practice in 1999. Dr. Mark Runfola became a member of the practice in 2002.   Dr. Susan Cortesi joined the practice in 2004.  These doctors share a commitment to excellence and to providing the best in surgical care.

The practice name of Advanced Surgical Associates (ASA) reflects a dedication to the most advanced surgical techniques available. The ASA surgeons, all of whom are board certified, have assembled a professional and caring staff committed to treating every patient with individual attention and respect.
