LAWRENCE JOHN DAMORE II, MD, FACS

Originally from Youngstown, Ohio, Dr. Damore attended college at Emory University in Atlanta, GA where he graduated summa cum laude in Biology.  He continued on to medical school at the University of Cincinnati.   Next, he completed five years of General Surgery residency at Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center.  Having a great interest in minimally invasive surgery,  Dr. Damore spent a year at the Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery at Ohio State University.  He then moved to the Phoenix area to begin practice with Advanced Surgical Associates in 1999.

Dr. Damore is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  He is also a member of the American College of Surgeons and Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons. Special professional interests include minimally invasive surgery, single incision laparoscopic surgery, and medical education. Dr. Damore also is a clincial instructor for the Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency.

Members of the American College of Surgeons are referred to as "Fellows." The letters FACS (Fellow, American College of Surgeons) after a surgeon's name mean that the surgeon's education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by the American College of Surgeons.
