CARRIE CASHMAN, MD, FACS

Dr. Cashman grew up in Mesa, AZ. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. She then attended medical school at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Through Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency program, Dr. Cashman completed her general surgery training and has returned to the East Valley to join Advanced Surgical Associates.

Dr. Cashman’s interests are focused on the treatment of all types of breast disease, with an emphasis on the treatment of breast cancer. Her practice includes core biopsies, surgical biopsies, lumpectomy, mastectomy, sentinel node procedures and venous access procedures for chemotherapy. Dr. Cashman is a member of The American Society of Breast Surgeons and she also organizes and runs the breast cancer conference at Banner Desert Medical Center.

In her free time, Dr. Cashman enjoys running and yoga. She and her husband enjoy traveling, scuba diving and snowboarding together.

Members of the American College of Surgeons are referred to as "Fellows." The letters FACS (Fellow, American College of Surgeons) after a surgeon's name mean that the surgeon's education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by the American College of Surgeons.
