Dr. Oh was born in Seoul, South Korea. He grew up in Houston, TX and graduated Cum Laude from Trinity University with a B.S. in engineering sciences.
He is an Alpha Omega Alpha honor graduate of medicine from the university of Texas San
Antonio medical school. He then completed general surgery residency at Baylor College of
Medicine in Houston, TX training under world renowned surgeon Dr. Michael E. Debakey.
Before relocating to the East Valley, Dr. Oh practiced surgery for four years in Seattle, WA.
There he was a clinical instructor in both the Swedish Hospital general surgery residency
program and the University of Washington Medical School. He received the outstanding
faculty instructor award from the Swedish Hospital Surgical Residents in 2005.
Dr. Oh's clinical interest is in the application of minimally invasive surgical techniques to all
aspects of modern surgery. He is able to perform the majority of colectomies, hernia
repairs, splenectomies, adrenalectomies, anti-reflux surgeries, cholecystectomies,
appendectomies, and other procedures using theses techniques which allow for shorter
recovery times and faster return to work and improved quality of life.
He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American
College of Surgeons, Debakey Surgical Society, Washington College of Surgeons, and King
County College of surgeons. He has full hospital privileges at Mercy Gilbert and Chandler Regional Hospitals and courtesy privileges at Banner Desert Hospital.
Dr. Oh is married to Krisnee Oh, B.S.N. and enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and playing tennis in his spare time. |
